Worry stones are smooth, polished gemstones, used to soothe stress and relieve anxiety. They usually come in the shape of an oval with a thumb-sized indentation. While initially, normal rocks found in water bodies were used for the purpose, these days, worry stones are often manufactured using semi-precious gemstones.
Made with these stones:
Amethyst
Blue Aventurine
Sodalite
Green Aventurine
Golden Quartz
Peach Aventurine
Red Jasper
How to use
Hold the worry stone between the index finger and thumb, gently moving the thumb back and forth across the stone. This action of moving the thumb back and forth across the stone, stimulates the hand nerves to reduce stress. It is a natural aid for self-calming, the simplest form of natural medicine.
History
The use of worry stones has many origins. Its use has been reported in ancient Tibet, Greece, Ireland, and with many tribes in the Americas. Worry stones made by sea water were generally used by Ancient Greeks. Native American tribes would pass their worry stones on to younger generations, creating a sense of connection with their ancestors.
