White Tara (Drolma in Tibetan) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy; she is very popular in Tibetan Buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of Tara; the most important are White Tara and Green Tara. Typical for her manifestation are the seven eyes in head, palms and soles, and she is sitting in a perfect lotus position. In her left hand she is holding the stem of a white lotus. Reciting a White Tara mantra has a healing effect on diseases of body and mind. The mantra is: OM TARE TUTARE TURE MAMA AYUR PUNYE GYANA PUSHTIN KURUYE SOHA.
