The femur trumpet (kangling) is a ritual wind instrument from Tibet that used to be made from real bones, which nowadays is made from synthetic resin. The origin of the use of ceremonial instruments like these goes back to the time of the Bön tradition, the old animistic shamanistic nature religion of Tibet. The femur trumpet was and is used in rituals devoted to the Dharma protectors, rain and healing rituals and, most importantly, in the Chöd practice.
Comes in a brocade bag.
NB: Just like playing a normal trumpet, you must master the playing technique in order to get a sound from the instrument.
